Q: What's the difference between “permanent hair reduction” and “hair removal”?
A:
Permanent hair reduction is defined as the "long-term stable reduction in the number of hairs re-growing after a treatment regime."
The LightSheer laser hair removal system most effectively disables hair in its active growth stage. Since hair has three distinct growth phases, more than one treatment is usually necessary.
Hair removal, on the other hand, is currently only achieved by electrolysis. The distinction is somewhat academic in that the FDA approves these medical devices for specific purposes, and electrolysis is the only approved “hair removal” device.
In my opinion, laser hair removal is faster, more effective, and less painful than electrolysis.
